Machu Picchu, the Inca, in the Urubamba valley, southern Peru


TOURISTS visiting the castle ruins Machu Picchu, the Inca, in the Urubamba valley, southern Peru, to commemorate the encounter, 100 years ago by the American traveler and archaeologist, Hiram Bingham, in 1911.
